The Cambridge Glass Fair‘Three hundred years of glass in one day’
The 4th Cambridge Glass Fair will be held at Chilford Hall Vineyard, Linton, Cambridgeshire on Sunday 12th September, 2004. The next fair in September will include a Foyer Exhibition of Bimini glass. Bimini Werkstatte was founded in Vienna by Fritz Lampl in 1923 and produced finely blown figures, animals and other decorative items. This glassware has received little exposure in the past and the exhibition presents an opportunity for collectors to learn more. For those interested in more contemporary design, the fair will feature work by various British glass artists working today. This mix of old and new is reflected by the fact that both the Contemporary Glass Society, the Glass Association and the Glass Circle will be represented at the fair. The Cambridge Glass Fair is for all those interested in glass, whatever their taste. The exhibitors at the fair are of the highest quality and are drawn from across the country. Included in the exhibitor list are the Country Seat, showing mainly Whitefriars glass, Roger Harris, who will be exhibiting a selection of continental glass, Primavera, who will be promoting the work of the well-known contemporary glass artist, Bob Crooks, and Marris Antiques who specialise in fine eighteenth and nineteenth century table glass. The fair is held in a purpose built exhibition hall, and refreshments, including a bar, will be available all day. The vineyard will be open and can be visited, and there is free parking for over 1000 cars. The event will be AA signposted and is easily accessible from the M11 (J 9/10). The fair will be open from 11am until 4pm and admission will be £3. For more information, please visit the Cambridge Glass Fair Website: |
