The 31st National Glass Collectors Fair will take place on Sunday the 7th of November 2004. The event will be held at the Heritage Motor Centre, situated near to Gaydon in Warwickshire (3min. from junction 12 of the M40). For more information about opening times and admission charges, please See Below.

As the most prominent glass fair in the calendar, long time members of the Glass Association are no doubt familiar with this bi-annual glass fair. It is however important to remember that when it was first established, the National Glass Collectors Fair was the only all-glass antiques and collectables fair.

From the very first glass fair, the organisers of this event understood the importance of catering for as many different collectors as possible. With exhibitors dealing in anything from 18th Century drinking glasses, to decorative Victorian glassware, as well as 1950’s and 60’s art glass, or even contemporary studio glass, you are sure to find something of interest at this glass fair. The success of this event has of course resulted in other organisers setting up their own glass fairs. However it should be noted that the National Glass Collectors Fair continues to be the largest such fair, with over 100 exhibitors offering the widest choice in glass available anywhere in the UK.

For those of you who have yet to visit this fair, it is worth knowing that this event can also prove to be an invaluable learning experience. The exhibitors are especially friendly and more than willing to share their knowledge of glass. As well as the glassware on offer, you can also pick up specialist glass books that are both rare and out of print. After years spent hunting down the rare and the obscure, Ray Slack, a longstanding exhibitor at this fair, will be retiring. As a result visitors to the 7th of November fair will have a unique opportunity to buy his books at half price. Andy McConnell will also be present to sell and promote his new book on decanters - ‘The Decanter – An Illustrated History Of Glass From 1650”.

With a broad mix of quality dealers, occupying four exhibition spaces and offering a wide variety of glass from throughout the ages, this glass fair once again promises to be another successful and enjoyable event.
