North West Members of the Glass Association

Charity Event in Aid of Ataxia UK

Saturday 14th May 2016

On Saturday 14th May 2016, North West members of the Glass Association charity event in aid of the brain disease Ataxia.

The theme of the event will be Commemorative Glass from any era and origin. 

 

Brian Clarke, chairman of the Glass Association will give an illustrated talk on his own collection. In addition, Maurice Wimpory will give a short presentation on American Glass and there will also be a slide show featuring highlights of the huge collection held by Eva Frumin and Jim Edgeley,that was bequeathed to Broadfield House Glass Museum.

All members are encouraged, please, to bring along a few examples of commemoratives from their own collections with the aim of creating smaller discussion groups after the speeches have concluded. Above all this is meant to be informative and interesting event with an emphasis upon having some fun.

The venue is St Mark’s Church Hall, Worsley, Manchester, M28 2WH, which is within 250yds of junction 13 of the M60 just off the A575.

The starting time is from 11.30am for tea, coffee and biscuits with the meeting starting at 12.We anticipate finishing the meeting at 4pm.
